M.A.Y.B.E. TOURNAMENT RULES 2011-2012
All bowlers will bowl handicap. There will be an optional scratch division with an additional entry fee cost of $5. Bowlers must be no older than 20 as of 08/01/2011. Handicap will be 90% of 210. All bowlers must provide average verification by providing a copy of their highest 2011-2012 league average sheet with a minimum of 12 games. IT WILL BE EACH BOWLER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE VERIFICATION OF AVERAGE. Any bowler unable to provide average verification will use 210 for handicap purposes. Failure to use correct average will disqualify score if submitted average is lower. Prize winnings shall be based on the submitted average if it is higher than the correct average. Corrections in averages may be permitted up to the completion of the 1st game. Scholarships will be awarded to the top 8 bowlers by the Parents-Coaches Association in accordance with their scholarship policy. Scholarship amount will be determined by the number of entries with a handicap guarantee for 1st place of a minimum of $50.00. The optional scratch division scholarships will be based on number of entries with winner(s) based on first five games. (Note receipt of a scratch division scholarship will not disallow the bowler from earning a handicap scholarship).
All bowlers will bowl 5 games across the lanes. The top 8 bowlers will advance to a single elimination with 1 versus 8, 2 versus 7, etc. The remaining four will advance to a step-ladder final with placement based on total pin fall for the six games. In the event of a tie for the top 8 positions or during elimination or step ladder play, there will be a 9th and 10th frame roll off.
Late bowlers will receive a zero for all frames missed. A frame will be considered missed when a bowler is not at his/her assigned lane ready to bowl.
All bowlers must check in 30 minutes prior to squad time. Entries close 15 minutes prior to the start of the squad or when lane availability has been maximized.
Returned checks will disqualify the bowler from awards and result in a $35 service fee.
The Directors reserve the right to correct any mistakes in averages, handicap or scores. All protests must be made within 72 hours, in writing, to the MAYBE/PCA Directors. Protests will be settled by the MAYBE/PCA Directors.
Bowlers may not bowl in offensive clothing. Hats will not be permitted during this event. Cell phones and electronic games will not be permitted during the tournament. Appropriate tee shirts and jeans will be allowed (jeans may not have holes and tee shirts may not have offensive language).
